Kennadie Philpot is a senior at Waskom High School.
“I want to be a leader. I want the freshmen and middle school kids to look up to me and be like, I want to be like Kennadie one day. Like I want to set a good example for them to follow.”
She’s on the varsity basketball team, plays softball and is a cheerleader. Kennadie also completes community service projects with Student Council and National Honor Society.
Along with balancing her academics and extra curricular activities, she’s still able to maintain a 3.9 GPA.
“With me being involved in so many things, there’s times I have to get up before school to do stuff, to study late, before school, after school. Have one on one time with teachers if I don’t understand something. Just going the extra mile to reach my goal.”
Kennadie is also a member of First Baptist Church of Waskom’s youth group.
“I want people to look at me and say she’s from Waskom. I want to represent Waskom as my hometown.”
