State Police cracking down on drunk drivers in Bienville Parish

Louisiana State Police will be on the lookout for drunk drivers this weekend in Bienville Parish. 

Troop G will conduct a sobriety / seat belt checkpoint between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at an undisclosed location.

Troopers will be looking for and removing impaired drivers from the road and they will be checking vehicles for people not wearing their seat belts.

In 2017, 60% of the fatal crashes investigated by Troop G involved impairment and 64% involved people that were improperly restrained or not restrained at all.  

LSP is asking you to designate a sober driver and buckle up.  

To report impaired drivers, dial *577 from your cell phone or dial 911.
