Dozens of veterans gathered for a town hall meeting in Little River County Friday afternoon.
The director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs said he wants to educate all veterans on the resources available to them. They include health, education and housing benefits. Col. Nathaniel Todd, (Ret.) said, “What we want them to know, particularly in reference to healthcare, we need them to enroll in the healthcare.”
Little River County Veterans Service Officer Paul Foster said he thinks most veterans in his area are knowledgeable about their benefits, but communication is important. He said, “My biggest concern is the length of time it takes to get results when you file a claim. And, like I say, they’re working on that.”
Officials said every county in Arkansas as a veteran service officer.
