Still no retirement letter from SPD Chief

Shreveport Mayor Ollie Tyler says she still hasn’t received official notification of the police chief’s retirement.

Tyler told city council during a work session Monday, she didn’t receive any paper work regarding Chief Alan Crump’s retirement.

She told us she’s giving Crump until Tuesday to submit all documentation.  Tyler explained she learned of Crump’s retirement after he shared the news with his top administrators during a weekly meeting.

Tyler says, “I called him again today and he promised that he was going to get me the documents about what his intentions are and he’s going to get that to me immediately, so I’m going to give him until tomorrow to see if he has all the documents on what he’s really going to do with his career and his life.”

As of now, Deputy Chief Bill Goodin is fulfilling the duties of chief.  The Mayor told NBC 6/Fox 33 News without the proper paperwork there could be a delay in naming the interim Police Chief.
