A new kitchen will open in Shreveport, thanks to the housing authority and Southern University at Shreveport.
The Milam Street Kitchen Incubator and Community Kitchen, also known as ‘KICK”, provides help with entrepreneurship, culinary training and economic opportunities.
It includes a commercial kitchen… Office space.. Meeting space, classrooms.. And a restaurant.
“We want to take existing entrepreneurs in the culinary field, caterers, food packagers, those potential restaurant owners and help them to get the resources and skills they need to either start their business or grow their business. The second part of that is culinary training, we will actually work with those entities to train the workers that they need for that field” said SUSLA Chancellor Dr. Rodney Ellis.
‘KICK’ is expected to open next Spring.
