SWEPCO says only 150 of its customers remain without power following the weekend storms.
Most of the remaining work involves replacement of broken utility poles in areas with difficult access.
Estimated time of restoration for the remaining customers is 10 p.m., but SWEPCO says the power could be restored sooner.
Severe storms with straight line winds caused a peak number of 42,000 outages at 1 a.m. Saturday, including 27,000 in Texas and 17,500 in Louisiana.
The heavy damage to SWEPCO’s electric system included more than 100 broken utility poles.
