Take a walk to cure heart disease and stroke

The American Heart Association celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Heart Walk at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6th at LSU Shreveport.

According to the American Heart Association: each day, about 2,150 Americans die from heart disease from cardiovascular disease, the number killer in the United States; stroke, the number 5 killer and a leading cause of severe disability, claims the lives of nearly 219,000 each year.

Money raised from the event funds the mission to cure heart disease and stroke.

The family-friendly pre-event area opens at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
