Tamala Ware in custody for fatal hit and run involving 16 year old

UPDATE:  Shreveport Police Patrol officers took Ware into custody in the 6100 block of Ambleside Street just before 6pm.

Original Story: Shreveport Police are actively seeking the whereabouts of a woman accused in a hit and run crash which claimed the life of a local teen last week.

Tamala Ware, 47, of the 7600 block of Harris Street in Shreveport, is wanted for her alleged role in the June 22, hit and run of a 16 year old teen who died from his injuries. Ware is suspected of being the woman who struck the teen with her car, exited the vehicle to check on the teen and later drove off.

Police suspect Ware may still be in the immediate area and are urging her to turn herself in. Bond in the matter has been set at $75,000.00.
