Ted Cruz talks to voters in Jefferson

Local News

Senator Ted Cruz stopped at the Riverport BBQ restaurant in Jefferson, Tx to answer questions from voters about issues like immigration, the Supreme Court, and a bill that will make Texas and Louisiana property around Caddo Lake a National Heritage site.

A crowd of Cruz’s senate opponent, Beto O’Rourke, supporters were gathered outside the restaurant.

Inside was packed with people. Cruz said he was working with Congressman Louie Gohmert to review the National Heritage site bill to make sure it will honor Texans property rights before making a decision whether or not to support it.

Cruz said he wants President Trump to nominate a constitutionalist judge to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who is retiring this year.

Cruz also said he is working with democrats to fix the immigration crisis. Cruz said “We need to stop illegal immigration. We can keep families together, we should keep families together, kids should stay with the parents but the answer is not to do what so many Democrats want to do, which is let everybody go, release all the illegal immigrants.”
