When it comes to exercise, 24/7 Wall Street says adults in Texarkana, Texas isn’t doing it enough.
The data collected is measured by two key factors. The number of adults who are physically active during leisure time and the number of people with access to areas of physical activity.
Local fitness expert Joe Byrd says there are a number of reasons people fail to workout.
“I think people either they don’t quite understand you know how important exercise is or maybe they just don’t find the time to do it.”
Texarkana Resident, Rita Collins says any amount of physical activity is important, she adds, “fitness is important it should be a priority in everyone’s life.
Experts say it’s important to get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. According to the report about 31 percent of adults on the Texas side fail to get any exercise outside of work.
Byrd says,”If they do some type of job you know where they’re manual labor or they’re moving around then they do feel like that’s enough and really it’s not because you tend to do the same things over and over, so your body’s adapted to those movements and the other thing is you just don’t get your heart rate up.”
According to the study adults in all of the 50 cities getting the least exercise report feeling unhealthy.
Byrd adds,”If they realized how important it would be for their life you know and just to be around longer for your family members.Then I think more people would exercise.
