Texas voters head to polls on Primary Election Day


It was a whirlwind Tuesday in the Lone Star state.

Governor Greg Abbott clinched the Republican nomination for governor and entered the general election as a heavy favorite, however, for Abbott, this is only the beginning.

“Now that we turn the corner and head toward November, it is important that Republicans come together,” says Governor Abbott.

A runoff is going to be held for the Democratic primary between Lupe Valdez and Andrew White.
The runoff race is taking place on May 22nd. Whoever emerges from the race will face off with Governor Abbott on November 6th.
Valdez also had a message for her supporters.

For the race for U.S. Senate, Incumbent Ted Cruz is up against Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke.
