Three injured in late afternoon shooting in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) Shreveport police have confirmed that there were multiple shootings near Broadway at the corner of Jacob Street and Doris Avenue late this afternoon.

It happened just before 4 p.m. today, and when police responded to the call, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was transported to Oschner’s LSU Hospital with life threatening injuries, according to SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines.

Moments later, Hines said, officers stopped a vehicle driving at a high rate ofa speed eastbound on Greenwood Road. Inside the vehicle, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds and one man who was uninjured. The injured men were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hines said earlier today,police were called in reference to a diomestic situation in the 4100 block of Jacob Street, and police believe the shootings were the culmination of the earlier incident. He said at this early point in the investigation the relationship of the victims is unknown, but they all are adults.

He added that investigators have identified a number of shell casings, indicating multiple gunshots were fired.
