Three injured in Sunday night shooting

Three people were injured in a shooting Sunday night in west Shreveport. 

Just after 10:00 p.m. on July 29, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to a shooting in the 4900 block of Jewella Avenue.    As officers arrived at the scene, they located two victims, suffering injuries sustained from gunshots.  The men were identified as 36 year old Justin Kemp and 35 year old Benjamin Myles.  Both men were transported to University Health hospital.  Kemp was last listed in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the upper body, while Myles’ injury to a lower extremity was considered non-life-threatening.

While at the crime scene, police learned a third victim, 24 year old Qurdarius Myles arrived at University Health hospital by private auto, suffering a gunshot wound to a lower extremity.  His injuries were considered non-life-threatening.  Shreveport Police detectives are working tirelessly in search of the persons responsible for the shooting.  Based on preliminary evidence, It appears the men were present at the Stop and Shop convenience store when the car they were in came under gunfire there in the parking lot.  No suspects have been identified at this time.
