Trump calls Vegas shooting ‘act of pure evil’


President Donald Trump said Monday that the shooting in Las Vegas that left at least 58 people dead was “an act of pure evil.”

Speaking to the nation from the White House, the president praised the quick action of law enforcement officers and first responders, which he said saved many lives. Trump also said that he would visit Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The president said he will go to Las Vegas on Wednesday.

In Las Vegas, Trump said he would meet with the governor, the mayor of Las Vegas and the sheriff, among others. He said it is a”very said moment for me, for everybody…This is a very said day.” The president did not respond to a question from the media about gun control.
