Two arrested in chocolate milk heist, drinking evidence in store

(KTVE) Police arrested two men for shoplifting when they drank chocolate milks in Walmart without paying for them.

West Monroe Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Walmart on Glenwood Drive on Wednesday. 

A Walmart employee told police two men, later identified as 20-year-old Corey Buie and 18-year-old Cameron Powe each grabbed a chocolate milk from the shelf and drank it while in the store. The Walmart employee said they left the empty milk containers on one of the grocery aisles and left the store without paying.

Buie and Powe later admitted to police they consumed the chocolate milk without paying for it. 

The milks were worth $1.28.

Buie was charged with misrepresentation during booking and shoplifting. He first told police his name was “Corey Powe.” After learning Buie’s true identity, police found Buie had active warrants with WMPD and OPSO.

His bond was set at $2,950.

Cameron Powe was charged with shoplifting.
