A man has been locked up after authorities found a large amount of drugs inside his vehicle during a traffic stop.
On May 11 agents with the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division received tips that 36-year-old Terrance Robertson, of Mansfield, was in possession of large amounts of marijuana.
Robertson was pulled over in the 100 block of Crosby St. When agents tried to make contact with him, he refused to exit his vehicle.
Robertson was later removed from the vehicle and gave consent for a vehicle search.
During the search, agents found a large package in the vehicle and Robertson admitted it contained marijuana.
The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit also arrived on the scene to conduct a second search of the vehicle.
K-9 Borris discovered an additional 2.3 lbs of suspected high grade marijuana as well as other small amounts of suspected marijuana concealed throughout the vehicle.
Robertson was arrested and booked into to the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on the charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Resisting an Officer.
Meanwhile, on May 17 agents with the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division received numerous citizen complaints of a citizen distributing illegal narcotics in the Logansport area.
An investigation was opened and undercover operation was started at which time Narcotics Agents were able to approach and purchase illegal narcotics directly from the person.
An arrest warrant was then issued for Daytrus Hill, of Logansport.
Hill was arrested without incident on 4 counts of distribution of Schedule II.
