Investigators with Shreveport Police Department’s Tactical Robbery Unit have two teens in custody charged with simple robbery following an ordeal at a west Shreveport grocery store last Friday.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on June 27, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the 2600 block of Waggoner Avenue after a juvenile victim reported being robbed by two suspects as he shopped. According to the victim, one suspect snatched money from his hand, while the other served as a “lookout” during the robbery. Both subjects fled the scene on foot. Investigators released photos extracted from store surveillance video and within days received a tip from Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers, which led to the identification of two teens, one 15-year-old and one 16-year-old, believed responsible for the crime. On July 5, 2018, both juveniles surrendered themselves to authorities and, following interviews with detectives, were booked into the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center on one count each of Simple Robbery.
