A local non-profit is turning the spotlight toward the people who help them make a difference in the community.
About 100 volunteers joined the United Way of Greater Texarkana for its annual campaign recognition breakfast. It’s a celebration of all the time and money donated to the group over the past year.
This year the organization raised about $765,000, an increase over the previous year.
“Without our neighbors helping our neighbors and volunteers doing what they do, we couldn’t do what we do, so we can’t thank them enough,” said David Mims, chairman of the board for United Way of Greater Texarkana.
The United Way partners with 30 agencies in the Texarkana region. Funds raised will be donated to those organizations.
