UPDATE: 3 children, 2 adults killed in I-30 crash in Mt. Pleasant

UPDATE: One eastbound lane OF 1-30 has reopened.

UPDATE: Three children and two adults are dead following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate-30 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

The children, two girls and a boy, who were all under the age of 10, and their mother were killed in the crash.

The father was airlifted to St Francis Hospital in Tyler and is in stable condition.  

The family of five was traveling in a minivan that was involved in the wreck.

A female truck driver with a Tennessee license also died in the crash.

Five others were injured in the accident, 4 of them were taken to Titus Regional Medical Center. 

According to DPS, the fatal crash stemmed from another wreck involving an 18-wheeler which happened about an hour prior at 7:30 a.m. Traffic was backed up when the crash occurred.

Police are on the scene of a deadly crash on I-30 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

The crash involves at least two 18-wheelers. 

Police tell KTAL NBC 6 News that there are multiple fatalities.

KTAL NBC 6 has a crew headed to the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
