UPDATE: 1:45 p.m. — West Monroe Police tell NBC 10 the driver of the wrecker which was hauling the crushed cars will get a ticket for an unsecured load.
Police say it was a local wrecker service, hauling three crushed cars eastbound on I-20 Tuesday afternoon. They say the driver told them he swerve for some reason, hit the jersey wall, and two of the cars he was hauling came loose.
One car landed below near 5th Street. The other landed on I-20. No one was hurt. Traffic was backed up for about a half hour as crews cleaned up the mess, and police investigated.
WEST MONROE, La. – (5/14/19) A crushed car on a car hauler became loose and fell off over I-20 around milepost 116 over by Fifth Street.
The scene is clear at this time and no injuries were reported.
NBC 10/FOX 14 is currently waiting to hear back from West Monroe Police in regard to any charges the driver of the car hauler could be facing.
