UPDATE: Four juveniles detained in Cherokee Park shooting

Local News

A late afternoon shooting in north Shreveport sent one person to the hospital, and after a two-hour search, police were able to detain four juveniles, one of whom is believed to be the suspect in the shooting.

It happened just before 4 p.m. today in the Bayou Oaks Apartments in 800 block of Navaho in the Cherokee Park area.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound in his leg. He was transported to Oschner LSU Heath with non-life-threatening injuries.

More than 30 police units then converged on the scene, and set up a perimeter around the area of the shooting, blocking off several streets. The Grimmett Drive and Northwood apartments were locked down, as police engaged in the manhunt for the shooter.
