A teenager is recovering after being shot Thursday evening in west Shreveport.
The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in the 3500 block of Milam St.
When officers arrived they found 18-year-old Chartavious First suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body.
First was transported to Ochsner LSU Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Several witnesses were interviewed and the shooting remains under investigation.

Shreveport police tell NBC 6 that an 18 year old male was shot tonight around 6pm. The man was shot in the lower back and found in the 3200 block of Milam Street. He was transported to Ochsner Health. There is no word at this time on his condition. Police continue to investigate.
