Judges from across the State of Louisiana are teaching young girls about being visionary women. The National Association of Women Judges is hosting its second annual local conference this week.
This year’s theme- Visionary Women: Champions of Perseverance, Persistence and Progress.
The conference will tackle many topics including: safety in courtrooms, domestic violence and human trafficking. There’s also a focus on mentorship.
Judge Aisha Clark says, “Each year we get an opportunity to see more students. We get to share with them the road paved to becoming a lwayer. The road paved to becoming a judge. Hopefully it will give them the ammunition that they need, the encouragement that they need, to help them to be in place to make a difference in their nation, their community and the world.”
The three day conference will end Friday evening with an awards dinner.
