Marshall sticks together.

“What hurts one, hurts all… although we may be at different schools here in Marshall,” said former Marshall teacher Lashun Hicks. “We are all still a Maverick family.”

Two Marshall High School juniors, Ny’Jahl Armstrong and Derrick Bennett, passed away after their truck hit a tree on Highway 43 early Saturday morning.

“We were all going about 60-65 miles per hour, pretty normal,” said friend Noah Castaneda, who was driving right behind the vehicle the two were in. “Next thing I know… I look up and he started hydroplaning and all that.”

The community held a vigil on Monday to remember those two. Also, to pray over two others who were transported to the hospital as a result of their injuries as well inside of the car.
