On this Whitman’s Workout, Wednesday NBC 6’s Crystal Whitman focuses on low-intensity movement through Tai Chi. Every move has a meaning with this ancient Chinese exercise that focuses on relaxation and breath control.
Rene Todaro is the instructor of a class offered at the Willis-Knighton Pierremont Wellness Center.
Todaro says people of all ages want to be vibrant and stay active, however, she finds that seniors of all ages are finding a unique way to do it.
“They have raved about the benefits to balance when they are around the house or around the yard. They not falling and if they do fall, they’re catching themselves and that is the biggest benefit that I’m finding that our students are excited about.,” says Todaro.
Todaro gently coaches her class to make all the right moves and strengthen their muscles.
