Shreveport Police say a woman and a 13-year-old are responsible for the death of a man found burned last week in north Shreveport.
Back on December 1, 2018, members of the Shreveport Fire Department were dispatched to reports of a grass fire in the 3100 block of Murphy Street. While they were extinguishing the fire, they located the burned remains of 34-year-old Tawfik Gawbahy. Patrol officers responded, secured the crime scene, and summoned investigators.
Since the investigation began, detectives and officers from the Shreveport Police have worked tirelessly in search of evidence and information in effort to identify and arrest the person(s) responsible for the crime.
Those efforts came to fruition on December 5, when investigators were able to establish probable cause for the arrest of a 13-year-old female and 20-year-old Sarah Ritter.
Ritter was booked into the city jail on one count of Second degree Murder and the 13-year-old was booked into Juvenile Detention Center on one count of Second Degree Murder.
