Workshop teaches financial literacy to college students

Sorority partners with Southern University at Shreveport to help students safeguard their financial future.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Sigma Rho Omega Chapter is teaming up with SUSLA Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

The “Making Money Moves Workshop” will be held on campus, March 21st from 6pm – 8pm in the Multi Purpose Room in the Student Center building. 

The event is geared toward incoming freshman, but all are welcome to attend.  The Guest Speaker is Frances Young of Keller Williams NWLA. 

Young will focus on ways to repair and improve credit scores, including how to check for inaccurate or outdated information in credit reports. 

Students will also learn how to protect themselves against both identity theft and unauthorized credit history use.
