The Sulphur River Basin Authority is willing to help fund multiple studies for Wright Patman Lake.
Riverbend and SRBA are partnering to conduct a volumetric and Sedimentation study. Previous studies have shown various levels of sedimentation.
Officials hope a new study will bring more accurate results. SRBA has committed to funding up to $50,000. The second study is to determine how much more water the lake can hold to meet water supply needs throughout Texas. The money for this study will come from SRBA’s funding partner.
“We’re hoping to meet the needs of not only the Sulphur River Basin because our stakeholders needs come first. If there’s additional water after that then we’ll be able to help meet the needs of other cities,” said Chris Spencer, SRBA.
SRBA is holding a joint meeting to further discuss Wright Patman Lake
