Gov. Edwards marks Inauguration Day with call to work together, be better

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTAL/KMSS) – Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards marked the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris Wednesday with a call to work together as the nation takes on the challenges ahead.

“Today, our country turns the page to a new chapter. Although we face significant challenges as a nation, there is no task too big for us to tackle if we put aside our differences and work together,” Edwards shared in posts on Facebook and Twitter Wednesday morning.

“The challenges seem insurmountable some days – the pandemic, racial inequalities, a struggling economy, rampant misinformation and deep divisions in our communities, to name a few. And while it will not be easy to unite our country, that should never deter us from always working to do better, be better.”

Edwards attended the inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C. to represent Louisiana in the ceremonial transition of power from one administration to the next.
