Newsfeed Now: Hero troopers; “Goat yoga”

On Newsfeed Now for March 18, guest host Susanne Brunner got the conversation started with a story from Kansas. That’s where two highway patrol troopers are being called heroes after pulling over a vehicle in which the driver had been seen beating his passenger. A man who witnessed it all made a post on Facebook thanking the troopers for possibly saving a life. 

Our next stop at 5 minutes into the show was Nashville, Tennessee. A police officer was injured when a huge group of people riding ATV’s and dirt bikes took over downtown on Saturday afternoon. We showed you the dramatic video of the officer being dragged by an ATV before falling off and into a street barricade before the driver speeds away. 

At the 5:40 mark we looked into the inspiring story of a 10-year-old who’s battling leukemia in Arkansas. His treatment means months in the hospital but he told his mom “don’t worry. I got this.” His positive attitude is proving a big help to his family who’s also grateful for friends and neighbors who created the Mighty Max Facebook page to held coordinate meals, plan visits, and help the family pay for gas. KARK’s Susan El Khoury told us all about it.

And our final story started at 9:25 into the show. We were talking about “goat yoga.” The social media trend that kicked off in 2016 has reached Mobile, Alabama. The unusual approach involves some very cute four-legged friends that scamper around and keep the sessions lively! WKRG’s Kimber Collins shared the inside scoop.
