Roosevelt Collins Holds Football Camp at BTW

Former Miami Dolphin and TCU Horned Frog Roosevelt Collins was back in Shreveport this morning as he hosted a football camp at BTW.

Collins and several other former NFL players ran kids through many football drills. What Collins wanted most was to not only bring the community together and help coach young athletes in their physical endeavors, but to teach them about overcoming adversity as he once did.

“It’s amazing to me, to see all these little kids out here ages 8 all the way to 18. These kids come out here and are doing a great job, I’m just impressed by them. A lot of people in the community came through for these kids they did a great job with everything from providing water, Gatorade, shoes from Underarmour and Nike. Academy came in and did some stuff for us as well so I just really appreciate it from all these people. That’s one thing I want them to take away from this camp, I love the game of football but more importantly all these young men are going to  be fathers one day. That’s important for me to let them know how to get over things how to get over adversity, that’s very important, said Collins.”
