Police warn residents to be ware of solicitors.
Assistant Chief Kyle Holcomb says, “we’ve received one report of a company that did not appear to be on the up and up, they did not have a permit. .”
If you receive a knock on your door from a repairman police advise that you first ask for a permit to protect yourself from scam artist.
Holcomb adds, “if somebody comes to your door, doesn’t have a permit then we need to be notified.”
Terrie Diaz’s home and car was severely damaged from the storm. She describes solicitors that have paid her a visit. “All of them were from out of town, wanted to take my vehicle out of town and I wasn’t comfortable with that”, says Diaz.
Holcomb urges residents to use common sense, “if the hair on the back of your neck stands up tells you it’s not right, it’s usually not right.”
