Brotherton says Haughton needs to ‘clean up’ mistakes despite blowout win

Sports

The Haughton Bucs came away with a 42-7 win over Minden last Friday night.

The Bucs jumped out to a 16-7 first quarter lead and never looked back.

While Haughton won the rivalry game in blowout fashion coach Brotherton says they still have a ton to get worked out before district play.

Jason Brotherton said, “Sometimes when you win, I had to come in and convince our kids we’ve still got a long ways to go. We got 18 penalties in that game which in a close game that’s going to get you beat. We turned the ball over twice. We got stopped on the goal line on 4th down. You lose sight of those things when you win so big.”

Haughton plays host to BTW Friday night.
