C.E. Byrd Yellowjackets 23 in 23

The Byrd Yellow jackets finished at .500 in 2017, which would leave any team ready to come back ready and make a statement. Thats exactly the mindset for this upcoming season for the Yellow jackets.

Byrd Head Coach Mike Suggs said, “You know the kids aren’t satisfied with going 5-5, nobody around here is. They’ve worked extremely hard and that’s their goal to improve on what we did last year.”

Byrd senior Trayvious Johns said, “The goal is always to win district, go to the dome. We’re not going to be average this year.”

The Yellow jackets will be loaded with senior leaders in 2018, but this is now a squad that has a lot of experience across the board and thats something that could be the difference maker.

Suggs said,  “We were very young last year. We’ve got some guys back that have some experience and we’ve got a lot more leadership this year than we’ve had in the past couple of years and hopefully that will transition into better play on the field.”

Johns said, “Well you know we’ve been working hard. Defense got better offense got better. We’re ready to put in work.”

Suggs  said, “They’re working extremely hard. They’ve done everything we’ve asked of them in the offseason and in the summer. We’re excited about starting it up here.”

Johns said, “Stay tuned we’ve got something ready for y’all.”
