Calvary looking to punch ticket to LHSAA State Semifinals

The Calvary Cavaliers season has ended in the second round of the playoffs in each of the last three years, so come Friday night, you can believe the team is going to be locked in and focused.

The Cavs are looking to finally get over that 2nd round hump and head coach Rodney Guin  says a key to doing so against Newman will be a solid performance from the secondary.

Guin said, “Well we have to clean up some mistakes on offense and defensively we have to be ready to defend the pass they have a really good quarterback some good receivers and will probably throw the ball 40 to 50 times against us.”

Calvary defensive back Kobe Byrd said, “Testing our defensive backs because we really haven’t had a passing team as good as Newman because they have some really good receivers and quarterback so we really should, it should be a challenge.”
