Captain Shreve is looking to ‘Slay the Beast’ in 2nd round of LHSAA playoffs

The Captain Shreve Gators are into the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time since 2005.

Their reward?

A matchup with the number one ranked West Monroe Rebels.

The Rebels have been dominant all season long, coming in with an 11-0 record and beating teams by an average score of 44-15.

Captain Shreve has been pretty impressive in their own right.

They’re 8-3 so far and with their performance against Evangel two weeks ago, the Gators have proven they’re not backing down from anyone.

Captain Shreve head coach Bryant Sepulvado said, “West Monroe is a good football team. I mean they’re ranked number-1 for a reason. They’re big on both sides of the football, got a lot of speed. They haven’t been challenged a whole lot but we tell our guys 90 percent of every ballgame is about us. We’ve played good teams all year long and we’ve risen to the occasion so we’re really focused on what we do try to clean up a few things and we’re going to look them right in the eye and come right at them.”
