Captain Shreve punches ticket to 5A State Title Game

the Lady Gators came out to an early lead, played neck and neck, and then really pulled away in the fourth quarter. The Gators found an offensive rhythm that could not be stopped finishing with 20 offensive boards and then Martin, Mclemore and Heard finishing with over 10 points each. The Lady Gators very excited for an opportunity to clinch their first ever state champioship.

Shreve head coach Keith Greene said “We felt really really strong coming into this game. We’ve been battle tested all year, the way they’ve persevered through things. We got here last year I think the stage may kind of got us a little bit but once we got on that little run towards the end  I knew we could pull it off.”

Shreve senior Kennedi Heard said, “We’re going to try our best to bring home a State Championship to Captain Shreve because everybody in Shreveport especially our supporters deserves it so, we’re going to try our best.:

Captain Shreve was finally able to get over the hump this year and they have an opportunity to make history heading clinching the programs first ever state championship. 

They’ll play Denham Springs at 8pm Saturday night at Rapides Coliseum in Alexandria.
