Tonight is a night of celebration here in Carthage as the 4A Division I state champion Carthage Bulldogs recognized for their terrific season. From watching highlights tapes to a meet and greet with the fans, this was a special night.
Gunner Capps said, “You know it’s a great experience to be in touch with the community and the fans and all of these kids that look up to us. It’s a great experience for them and for us to be a part of all of this. It’s real special and it’s a big blessing.”
Scott Surratt said, “You don’t get better than those senior right there. We had 28 seniors that I recognized tonight, and they very well, I mean they’re great kids. Great players, great kids, and they’ll do great in whatever endeavors that have in the future.”
Mekhi Colbert said, “It feels special. It’s good for the community that we brought the sixth ring back, and it just feels good.”
Tonight’s event closes the book on another championship year for Carthage, and now the attention turns to next season and bringing home ring number seven.
