The LSU track and field squad had two champions on day one of the SEC Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center. Mondo Duplantis (pole vault) and Rayvon Grey (long jump) secured titles in their respective events.
Duplantis set the collegiate record with a clearance of 5.92 meters (19’ 5”) en route to claiming the gold. In addition to the collegiate record, it is an SEC championship meet record, world lead for 2019 and a personal best for the 19-year-old phenom indoors.
Grey claimed the first SEC title of his career with a bound of 7.86 meters (25’ 9.50”). Check back soon for a full recap.
