The Cowboys are still in their first few days of training camp out in Oxnard, California and while recent talk has been all about Zeke Elliott this off season back up running back Darren McFadden is still preparing as if he was the number 1.
Mcfadden is entering his tenth season in the NFL and the veteran RB understands just how quickly roles can change in football. Nevertheless, his mentality is unwavering; he explains his work ethic and how he mentors his younger teammate, Zeke.
“For me i’m coming out here and preparing everday like i’m the number one guy. Thats something I take pride in being out here and playing football and that’s something the coaches really respect about me and the way I go about my business out here. Im going to continue to do that whether im the number one or number two. For me I just try and give him the best advice that I can and at the end of the day you can’t be right there with somebody every moment of their life so I just try and give him the best advice that I can and he go from there.”
