Demons Begin Spring Practice

The NSU Demons got their spring practices underway on Thursday.

The Demons are entering year two under head coach Brad Laird, and return their quarterback.

Shelton Eppler is back under center after throwing 26 touchdowns a season ago.

The Demons have a number of positions to replace, most notably at receiver with Jazz Ferguson forgoing his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

Coach Laird says he liked what he saw from the first day.

Brad Laird said, “The 93 guys that we had out there, I’ll tell you they competed, and they showed a lot of promise in day one. They showed the opportunity that they see to go out and compete. Now we’ve got to continue over the next 14 practices to hone in on the things we’ve got to get better at, but as far as going out and competiting and have a great attitude, we saw that in day one.”

The Demons will hold their annual Delaney Bowl at the end of the month on March 30th.
