First day of pads for players is like taking a dog off of a lease, watch him run and watch them hit. Both Elysian Fields and Carthage high schools had their first days suited up and the coaches we’re as excited as their players to be able to run a few live drills.
“Absolutely it’s a different feeling we were excited Monday to be shorts, t-shirt and a helmet but obviously putting the pads on takes it to a different level so we’re excited, said Elysian Fields Coach Scott Ford.”
Carthage Coach Scott Surratt said “Oh yeah it feels great to see the guys and the excitement in the kids eyes when you first come out especially the day the first day of two a days to put the pads on is pretty exciting. We had a very physical morning this morning and I think we come out of it pretty healthy it will be the first time we didn’t have a season ending injury in awhile on that drill but that’s a fun drill and we’ll see who will hit in that drill that’s for sure.”
