A teams success can often be reflected in their record. At 27-1, the ETBU Lady Tigers have seen a lot of it.
Janae Shirley said, “Sometimes I don’t really think they notice that they’ve done what they’ve done to this point.”
Emily Deramus said, “We definitely have a standard that we have to play to and I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing though because it makes us be excellent in everything that we do.”
Mackencie Anderson said “It’s awesome, this team is different than any other team that I’ve been on.”
That’s because what makes a team great., has nothing to do with wins and losses.
Emily Deramus said, “We have a lot of fun we’re always goofy. We’re always being weird and dancing or something.” *laughs*
Mackencie Anderson said, “I really just think we’re all really silly.”
Bea Lara said, “We’re like really close and silly. You never know what people are going through cause not a lot of people will say it and that’s just how we got closer together.”
Janae Shirley said, “They really and genuinely enjoy being around each other it’s kind of made our practices go a little bit longer sometimes because at the end of practice sometimes they’ll be talking and we can’t get them to stop.”
Along with chemistry, part of a winning culture is the right environment. The programs year old facilities like the team, are impressive.
Janae Shirley said, “It’s been such a blessing it’s allowed us to continue to get the players that we’ve been able to get in the past here and get players we hadn’t had the opportunity to even get on visits. There’s not a lot of facilities like this in the country and these kids get to be a part of something special.”
Something the girls has already proved that they are. But the season isnt over.
Janae Shirley said, “Take it one game at a time and push forward and really set a foundation for the next couple of years. It’s such a young group we wanted to make sure that they understand and knew the culture and this has been a special group that they’ve gotten it really quickly.”
Emily Deramus said, “Ultimate goal you know win a natty.”
