Goals come at a premium at Lone Star; Bugs need to break through Friday

Sports

Friday’s game three is being called the Mudbugs most important of the season. Not just because of the implications but because of the very real challenge that exists in playing post season hockey on the road, especially at Lone Star. In the four regular season games that were played at the Nytex Sports Centre, only two goals were scored from Shreveport and the other three games resulted in shut outs in favor of the Brahmas. So don’t call me captain obvious just yet for saying that you have to score goals to win hockey games because for Coach Zirnis and the team, its actually one of the main focuses.

Karlis Zirnis- It’s a hard building to play in and when you’re going in the series it’s a tough one. It’s going to be a lot of defensive battles and everything else. There’s no excuses for us we’re going to find a way to score there.

Jordan Fader – Going into their building its a smaller sheet of ice we’ve just got to get guys in front of the net and get some rebounds so it’s just play simple and get our bodies in the paint..

So will the Mudbugs be able to complete the sweep against the reigning champions we’re going to find out tomorrow night puck drop is set for 7:30PM.
