Loyola wins girls soccer state championship

The fifth times the charm for the Loyola Lady Flyers garnering the first ever state championship title in a dominating 3-0 shutout.

Now the Lady Flyers left no doubt that this was their state title to take they were absolutely dominant in all phases of the match and if the first ever title wasn’t exciting enough for head coach Mark Matlock how about the fact that his own daughter was the MVP thats right Kalli Matlock with those two goals for the Flyers no doubt a special night for the family and an even more memorable night for the program.

Mark Matlock – I’m just so proud of her to come through like that but again overall just a great team effort. We’ve been so close and put a lot into the program and I’m just glad to see us get one.

Kalli Matlock – My whole life has been soccer with my dad and all my other siblings my younger sister plays and honestly its, my whole life I’ve kind of worked for the opportunity to win something like this and it just means so much for me my family my dad. It just means so much to my family to do this.

So a lot of smiling faces bringing home the hardware back to Shreveport as the Loyola flyers become Division IV State Champs.
