The 3 seed LSU Tigers taking on 14th seeded Yale in the first round of the NCAA tournament LSU advancing with a 79-74 win. The Tigers had a 16 point lead at the half and held off a number of threes in Yales second half rallying effort.. Skylar Mays led LSU with 19 points. Afterwards the team saying this first win was a relief.
Javonte Smart said, “I know a lot of the other players was nervous not to many people get the opportunity to play over here it just feels great to get the win the first win out of the way from this game we ready you know, the first game out of the way so were ready for the next one.“
