Marshall Promotes Griedl to HFC/AD

The Marshall Mavericks didn’t wait long to name a replacement for Claude Mathis, and they didn’t have to look too far to find him.

Offensive coordinator Jake Griedl has been promoted to head coach.

Before coming to Marshall in 2017, Griedl spent four years on the staff at Lake Travis, helping the Cavaliers to two 6A state titles.

He also spent a season at Southern Arkansas up in Magnolia.

Marshall will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon to introduce their new head coach.
