Minden looks to rely on the defense in 2018

Sports

The Minden Crimson Tide are coming off of a 6-6 season.

They’ll lean heavily on the defense in 2018.

The Tide return nine starters on that side of the ball with only three returning on offense.

Don’t let that fool you, this is a senior heavy roster and  the key for the Tide this season looks to be the stout “D”.

Head coach James Heard said, “All the people we play can put up big numbers so if you can’t stop anybody you can’t win. We always but a lot of emphasis on the defense in terms of personnel, and like I said we took some lumps last year especially on defense but, I feel good this year. These guys coming back have a lot of experience this year. These guys are hungry I think like totally we have 22 seniors so it’s a very good senior class. Usually when you have that number of seniors it carries over into the season your expectations and what you can actually do.”

Minden opens the season at home when they play host to Haughton on Friday August 31st.
