Mo Claiborne is making a difference off the field

“Mo Claiborne – I know what the problem is, the problem is social media. You know, you can just have a kid walking around and you can just say something to them and the conversation will start right there.”

Anytime a professional athlete uses their platform to make a real difference, that’s something to be celebrated. While its important to want to reach athletic goals whats more important is to be a contributing member of society. That may seem obvious but its easier said than done. Someone who’s truly doing it is Shreveport native and Cornerback of the New York Jets, Morris Claiborne. Holding his seventh annual youth camp over at independence stadium and it was clear that his mission is bigger than football. This is a guy who is really running the right route.

“Mo Claiborne- I plan on doing this camp forever. I’m talking even when I’m done with football. I come from the same place you come from, same background, and I didn’t have an excuse. It’s all on the internet thats where it’s all starting at. From the lyrics to different songs you know and stuff like that. These kids take that seriously, they want that and half of the time what those people are talking about they’re not even really living like that. I want them to know like, you can get that shiny stuff by getting your money some other way. You don’t have to follow that crowd.”
