The best way to describe the Mudbugs in one word this season is consistent.
The team has yet to lose two games in a row. A big part of that has been solid defense from goaltender James Durham, who is no longer with the team.
Durham moved up to the USHL officially Tuesday and is now on the active roster for the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
The mudbugs aquired two new goalies in process of losing Durham.
Jaxon Castor came from Dubuque and made 21 saves in a tough loss at Corpus Christi this Saturday but his experience has the team confident with new pads between the pipes.
“Karlis Zirnis said: James did a good job down here and we wish him luck but at the same time were excited to have Jaxson here and obviously before everything going down I made calls and everything else and you know we didnt just get a good goalie but we got a good person too so its takes a little bit of time for him to adapt but he fit in well.”
Jaxon Castor said: “Right away I knew it was a good opportunity it was tough leaving Dubuque after two and a half years of course but its a really good opportunity for me and im really excited.”
